HELISTAR at Taipei Plas 2026: Tension Control Solutions in Focus

HELISTAR exhibited at Taipei Plas 2026 (Taipei International Plastic & Rubber Industry Show), held September 15–19, 2026 at Nangang Exhibition Hall 1, 4F, Booth M0429 in Taipei, Taiwan. Across the five-day show, engineering and purchasing visitors at the booth consistently asked about tension controllers, closed-loop tension control, and tension control systems paired with tension sensors, rather than open-loop or manually adjusted setups.

HELISTAR observed that most of these inquiries came from engineers working in converting, printing, and web handling equipment, where tension tolerance (fluctuation) requirements tighten as roll diameter and line speed change through a run. Closed-loop tension control is a system in which a tension sensor continuously feeds actual tension back to a controller, which then adjusts brake or clutch torque in real time to hold tension at a set target. Interest in this architecture at the booth reflects a broader move among OEM machine builders toward feedback-based tension regulation.

Three product-level questions came up repeatedly at the booth:

  • TCP-818D Automatic Tension Controller — a fully digital controller supporting single or dual tension sensor inputs, Modbus RTU/RS485 communication, and a taper tension control function, discussed most often as the control core for a closed-loop setup.
  • LCS Tension Sensor — a pedestal-type tension detector covering a 50–2,000 Nm range, raised in the context of pairing a controller with a physical feedback sensor instead of relying on torque control alone.
  • Closed-loop tension control configurations in general, with visitors asking how brake or clutch selection, controller, and sensor are matched to a specific line speed and material.

HELISTAR's product development has been oriented toward full tension control systems built around measured feedback, not individual brake or clutch components in isolation. The engagement at Taipei Plas 2026 lines up with that direction and points to where roll-to-roll equipment builders are focusing as they specify new lines or upgrade existing ones.

Engineers evaluating a closed-loop tension control upgrade can review the TCP-818D controller and LCS sensor specifications, browse the full tension control product line, or contact HELISTAR's engineering team to size a configuration for a specific application.
